כור תעשיות (בקיצור: כור) היא חברה-בת בבעלות מלאה של דיסקונט השקעות. היא הוקמה בשנת 1944 כזרוע התעשייתית של חברת העובדים של ההסתדרות וצמחה לקונצרן תעשייתי גדול שהעסיק עשרות אלפי עובדים. בסוף שנות ה-80 נקלע הקונצרן למשבר חמור, עבר הבראה בידי בני גאון, שבמסגרתה נמכרו רבות מהחברות הבנות שלו, ולבסוף נמכרה אף חברת "כור" למשקיעים פרטיים. בשנת 2006 נרכשה השליטה בכור על ידי קבוצת אי.די.בי. שבראשות נוחי דנקנר. בשלב זה הופנה חלק ניכר מהון החברה להשקעה לא תעשייתית, כגון מניות הבנק קרדיט סוויס - שהסבה לחברה הפסדים כבדים.2 From the Hebrew Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0
